Football Tips 9th March 2010

BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND - JANUARY 12: Sebastian L...

Right let’s have a look at some of the fixtures for tonight and see what we got.

Portsmouth v Birmingham – Brimingham Win @ 3.20
Odds of a Birmginham win here are quite high as a result of the FA Cup game last weekend which saw Portsmouth Beat Birmingham  2-0. But i feel Birmingham will seek revenge tonight and are more than capable of doing Pompey over tonight.

West Brom v Sheff Wed – Draw @ 4.20
West Brom have slipped down to third as of the weekend but find them selfs needing to win this game inhand to claw their way back above Forest who refuse to lay down and die. West Brom “should” have no trouble beating Wednesday but Albion have been hit and miss as of late and i can see tonight being another frustrating evening for all the Baggies seeing their side draw leaving them in third place with no games inhand.

Snooker player Stephen Lee arrested over match-fixing allegations

March 8th, 2010 by Underdog No comments »

Stephen Lee, the world No25, has been arrested following an investigation into suspicious betting patterns, police said today.

The player, from Trowbridge in Wiltshire, was arrested yesterday, West Midlands police confirmed.

A spokesman said: “A 35-year-old man from Wiltshire was arrested on Thursday 11 February on suspicion of cheating.

“This follows a joint operation where West Midlands police have assisted the Gambling Commission, following their concerns about suspicious betting patterns.”

Lee, whose world ranking has fallen from a high of No5, was last in the headlines for non-sporting reasons after he tested positive for cannabis in 2000.

World Snooker, the commercial arm of governing body the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, said they were awaiting further developments.

“We are aware of the recent news articles concerning match-fixing and are awaiting further reports,” they said in a statement. “In instances where the Gambling Commission commences an investigation into a match, the WPBSA works together with the Commission to assist in its inquiries and the WPBSA will hold its own investigation open pending the conclusion.

“However, neither the Commission nor the WPBSA will release information surrounding a betting matter while an investigation is ongoing.”

Football Tips 27th & 28th February 2010

February 25th, 2010 by Underdog No comments »

Hello there people, right i’ve done the usually and had a read over the weekends fixtures and have picked a few out that stand out with good value odds. Right here we go.

Burnley Vs Portsmouth – Burnley To Win @2.10
Burnley have had good home form on and off this season and with Portsmouths recent troubles i think its obvious to all that Portsmouth are gonna struggle for the games that remain. I think Burnley will turn Portsmouth over.

Birmingham Vs Wigan – Birmingham To Win @ 1.90
Birmingham have been in red hot form this season and no major investment has been ploughed into the squad as of yet, but thats an article for a different day. As for Wigan they blow hot and cold and never know which Wigan are gonna turn up. I bank on the Blues brushing Wigan to the side.

From £1 to £1,048,576 In Twenty Bets…Easier Than The Lottery!

February 22nd, 2010 by Underdog No comments »
Obverse

We all gamble to try and reach that dream, the dream of getting a few extra zeros on the end of our bank balance so we can roll around in cash, buy fast cars and cheap women (or men depending on what you go for). Well that first million may not be that far out of touch as you can reach your dream starting with a pound and only having to choose twenty correct even money bets to gain those six zeros. It is harder than it sounds. Here is how the betting would look.

Making twenty correct even money bets starting with a pound.

Bet One: £1 Bet – Win £2
Bet Two: £2 Bet – Win £4
Bet Three: £4 Bet – Win £8
Bet Four: £8 Bet – Win £16
Bet Five: £16 Bet – Win £32
Bet Six: £32 Bet – Win £64
Bet Seven: £64 Bet – Win £128
Bet Eight: £128 Bet – Win £256
Bet Nine: £256 Bet – Win £512
Bet Ten: £512 Bet – Win £1,024
Bet Eleven: £1,024 Bet – Win £2,048
Bet Twelve: £2,048 Bet – Win £4,096
Bet Thirteen: £ 4,096 Bet – Win £8,192
Bet Fourteen: £8,192 Bet – Win £16,384
Bet Fifteen: £16,384 Bet – Win £32,768
Bet Sixteen: £32,768 Bet – Win £65,536
Bet Seventeen: £65,536 Bet – Win £131,072
Bet Eighteen: £131,072 Bet – Win £262,144
Bet Nineteen: £262,144 Bet – Win £524,288
Bet Twenty: £524,288 Bet – Win £1,048,576

On the face of it, it does seem simple and that the hardest part of this task would be holding your nerve. I know I would take the £512 winnings from a pound rather than keep betting the whole sum of money. But one thing is for sure I would rather start doing this each week than putting a pound on the lotto every Saturday as you can have a say in the bets and I feel that although this would be a very difficult challenge, you have more of a chance of getting a result.

Start each week with a pound, one run might keep going for a few weeks and you can choose to bail out on £512 or £4,096 or it might be dead within the first four or five bets, but I think we all stand a better chance of winning some money using this little trick than playing out national lottery each week for a few quid a throw, the whole nation pinning their hopes on six “lucky” numbers, thinking that their dogs birthday has any significance is what I find bemusing.

If any of you guys try this out leave some comments and let us know how it goes.

20th & 21st Feb 2010 Football Tips

February 18th, 2010 by Underdog 1 comment »

Hello there people it’s that time of the week again after a hard boring week at work, as i feel like gauging  my eyes out with a spoon i thought i’d take sometime out and have a look over this weekends action. So here we go.

Portsmouth Vs Stoke  – Draw @ 3.30
This was the first game that stood out to me for this weekends games. With Portsmouth in a desperate state i think they will be looking to put up a real tough fight, i also feel Stoke will take the game to Portsmouth but i see this ending in a stale mate.

Derby Vs Swansea – Derby To Win @ 2.40
I have chosen this game because Derby seem to be going on a bit of a run of late after a poor start to their championship campain and with good odds on Derby i can see this being another Derby victory.

!!Bet During Eastenders Live!!

February 16th, 2010 by Underdog No comments »

Archie Mitchell

Bodog Europe will be offering live ‘in-running’ betting on Who Killed Archie Mitchell, Friday 19th February.

In a world first online bookmaker Bodog will be offering odds during EastEnders’ live show when they reveal who killed Archie Mitchell. This means fans can not only back who they think ‘did it’ but they can also follow the odds as they change while the story line unfolds.

Bodog, who currently have Sean Slater as the 2/1 favourite, will continue to bet on the outcome as the show progresses. This type of ‘in-running’ betting has become very popular during sports events but has never been done on a soap opera, however, as EastEnders are breaking new ground by making the show live on Friday February 19th the opportunity is there for fans to bet and watch!

Keith McDonnell, Managing Director for Bodog Europe, commented: “Betting is no longer just about football and horseracing with odds offered on Big Brother, the X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent but to be betting live on a soap opera is taking it to a new level. Hat’s off to the producers of EastEnders it is a huge undertaking to do a show like that live and we hope we will be adding some spice to it as the odds change on different characters while the plot thickens.”

Sean Slater 3.25
Ryan Malloy 6.50
Tracy (Barmaid) 7.00

AC Milan v Man Utd 16th February 2010

February 15th, 2010 by Underdog No comments »

David Beckham at Al Saad Sports stadium.
Image via Wikipedia
Well this is the game that everybody is talking about this week with it being the first time Davis Beckham has played against his former club Manchester United…I’m sure you’ve heard of them. So with so much attension being focused on this match lets have a look at some of the bets avalible for the game.

Match Odds:
AC Milan 2.87 Draw 3.10 Man Utd 2.62

I think Man Utd are the best bet here as AC Milan have been the underachiving side in Italy at the moment with Inter being the dominant force, it should be a tight game but think United will just edge it in a game that could easily be a draw.

Manchester United To Win @ 2.62

While i’m here i thought i’d share some other bets that may interest you, these are not my tips but just something that may catch your eye:

First Goalscorer:
Wayne Rooney @ 5.5
da Silva Alexandre Pato @ 7.00
David Beckham @ 15.00
No Goal Scorer @ 8.00
